What to Know

After two games on the road, the New York Giants are heading back home. The Giants and the Washington Football Team will face off in an NFC East battle at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W.’

2022 “welcomed” New York with a 29-3 beatdown courtesy of the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The last quarter was a mere formality since it was already 29-3 by the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Washington was within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap on Sunday as they fell 20-16 to the Philadelphia Eagles. QB Taylor Heinicke had a pretty forgettable game, throwing one interception. Heinicke ended up with a passer rating of 127.10.

Most of the squad’s points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed ten. K Joey Slye delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

The losses put the Giants at 4-12 and Washington at 6-10. Neither squad can make the playoffs, so they’re playing for draft order now.

In the teams’ previous meeting last September, New York and Washington were almost perfectly matched up, but New York suffered an agonizing 30-29 loss. Maybe New York will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the contest and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.
