World Series 2020 Live

The Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Dodgers will open the 2020 World Series on Tuesday in Arlington, Texas. The Texas Rangers’ stadium, Globe Life Field, will play host to the Fall Classic as MLB wraps up a season altered due to Covid-19.

After three rounds of the playoffs broadcast primarily on cable, the World Series will air exclusively on FOX. Anybody with even just antenna TV will be able to watch the Rays and Dodgers square off for the Commissioner’s Trophy. However, not everybody has a television, and plenty of folks might not be around a TV at 8 ET when the World Series is getting underway on a given day.

If you have some kind of cable access and won’t be around a television, you can either log-in at the FOX website or you can download the FOX NOW app on iOS or Android. Both allow you to watch live FOX broadcasting with your cable log-in.

If you have one of many streaming services, the World Series will be available on Hulu With Live TV, YouTube TV, PlayStation Vue, and FuboTV. If you don’t have any of these services, they each offer a free trial, usually either one week or two weeks. If you want to watch the 2020 World Series, hop on any of them and you’ll be good to go.

Dodgers vs Rays Live

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays will play Game 1 of the 2020 World Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington on Tuesday. The Dodgers swept the Brewers and the Padres in the NL Wild Card and NLDS, respectively. Los Angeles advanced to the World Series with a Game 7 win over the Braves in the NLCS. Meanwhile, the Rays beat the Blue Jays in the AL Wild Card round, got past the Yankees in five games in the NLDS and then won the pennant with a Game 7 win over the Astros in the ALCS.

The Dodgers completed their NLCS comeback after falling behind, 3-1 in the series. The Rays, meanwhile, held off a comeback threat from the Astros when Houston became just the second team in MLB history to force a Game 7 after falling into a 3-0 series hole.

The Rays come into Game 1 on three days of rest, while the Dodgers will be on two days of rest. Both of the best-of-seven Championship Series went the full distance this year, marking just the third time in MLB history that’s happened. The 2003 and 2004 postseasons were the only other two times.

The Rays will be competing in their first World Series since 2008. The Tampa franchise has never won a World Series in its 22-year long existence. The Dodgers are aiming for their first World Series title since 1988, however, the club is making their third Fall Classic in four years. L.A. lost to the Astros in 2017 and the Red Sox in 2018 before getting upset by the eventual champion Washington Nationals last season. Here’s how the AL champion Rays built their roster. And how the NL champion Dodgers built their roster.

And here are predictions for this year’s Fall Classic courtesy of our CBS Sports MLB experts.

Now, let’s set the scene for Game 1 with some essentials.

When you finish with 211 more yards than your opponent like the Cardinals did this past Sunday, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They took down the New York Jets 30-10. Arizona’s success was spearheaded by the efforts of QB Kyler Murray, who passed for one TD and 380 yards on 37 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 31 yards, and WR DeAndre Hopkins, who was on the other end of that TD and tacked on 131 yards receiving. That was the first 300+ yard effort for Murray this season.

Meanwhile, Dallas narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the New York Giants 37-34. Dallas’ RB Ezekiel Elliott looked sharp as he punched in two rushing touchdowns.

Special teams collected 13 points for Dallas. K Greg Zuerlein delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

This next contest is expected to be close, with Arizona going off at just a 1.5-point favorite. Those who got lucky with them against the spread this past Sunday might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.

The Cardinals are now 3-2 while the Cowboys sit at a mirror-image 2-3. Arizona is 1-1 after wins this year, Dallas 0-1.

Chiefs vs Bills Live

The Buffalo Bills will be returning home after a two-game road trip. They will take on the Kansas City Chiefs at 5 p.m. ET on Monday at Bills Stadium. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, Buffalo now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.

The Bills have to be hurting after a devastating 42-16 defeat at the hands of the Tennessee Titans this past Tuesday. RB T.J. Yeldon put forth a good effort for the losing side as he snatched one receiving TD.

Meanwhile, Kansas City came up short against the Las Vegas Raiders this past Sunday, falling 40-32. This was hardly the result the Chiefs or its fans were betting on, as they were favored by 10.5 points over Las Vegas heading into this game. The losing side was boosted by QB Patrick Mahomes, who passed for two TDs and 340 yards on 43 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. Mahomes ended up with a passer rating of 128.30.

The losses bumped both teams down to an identical 4-1. Two numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Buffalo comes into the matchup boasting the fourth fewest thrown interceptions in the NFL at one. But Kansas City is even better: they have yet to throw a single interception. So expect both teams to feel comfortable airing the ball out.

Rams vs 49ers Live

The Los Angeles Rams lost both of their matches to the San Francisco 49ers last season on scores of 7-20 and 31-34, so they’re hoping to turn the tables this season. The Rams and San Francisco will face off in an NFC West battle at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium. Los Angeles won’t have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 3.5-point advantage in the spread.

Los Angeles ran circles around the Washington Football Team this past Sunday, and the extra yardage (429 yards vs. 108 yards) paid off. Los Angeles strolled past Washington with points to spare, taking the game 30-10. Los Angeles QB Jared Goff was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 309 yards on 30 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. Near the top of the highlight reel was Goff’s 56-yard TD bomb to WR Robert Woods in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, the evening started off rough for the 49ers this past Sunday, and it ended that way, too. Things couldn’t have gone much worse for them as they lost 43-17 to the Miami Dolphins. San Francisco was down 37-17 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. A silver lining for them was the play of RB Raheem Mostert, who picked up 90 yards on the ground on 11 carries.

The Rams are the favorite in this one, with an expected 3.5-point margin of victory. Those who got lucky with them against the spread this past Sunday might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the team has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.

Los Angeles is now 4-1 while San Francisco sits at 2-3. Two offensive stats to keep an eye on: Los Angeles ranks second in the NFL when it comes to rushing touchdowns, with seven on the season. San Francisco is completely their equal: they also come into the contest with seven rushing touchdowns.

Packers vs Buccaneers Live

The Green Bay Packers have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will square off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. Green Bay’s scoring has been on the decline the past three games, which is obviously a trend the Buccaneers hope will continue.

Green Bay had a touchdown and change to spare in a 30-16 victory over the Atlanta Falcons two weeks ago. Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers was slinging it as he passed for four TDs and 327 yards on 33 attempts. Rodgers ended up with a passer rating of 147.50.

It could have gone either way late during winning time for Tampa Bay or the Chicago Bears last Thursday, but it was Chicago snatching the 20-19 win. The losing side was boosted by RB Ronald Jones, who picked up 106 yards on the ground on 17 carries.

Most of the squad’s points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed 13. K Ryan Succop delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.

This next matchup is expected to be close, with Green Bay going off at just a 1.5-point favorite. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a four-game streak of ATS wins.

The Packers’ victory brought them up to 4-0 while the Buccaneers’ loss pulled them down to 3-2. A couple stats to keep an eye on: Green Bay hasn’t thrown an interception yet this season. But Tampa Bay enters the contest having picked the ball off six times, good for second in the NFL. We’ll see which of these strengths — offense or defense — will win out.

Jets vs Dolphins Live

The New York Jets need to shore up a defense that is allowing 32.2 points per contest before their game on Sunday. New York and the Miami Dolphins will face off in an AFC East battle at 4:05 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium. The Jets are still on the hunt for that elusive first W.

New York received a tough blow this past Sunday as they fell 30-10 to the Arizona Cardinals. The losing side was boosted by WR Jamison Crowder, who caught eight passes for one TD and 116 yards.

Meanwhile, Miami’s offense rose to the challenge against a San Francisco defense that boasted an average of only 17.75 points allowed. They put the hurt on the San Francisco 49ers with a sharp 43-17 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Miami had established a 37-17 advantage. Miami QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 350 yards on 28 attempts. This makes it four games in a row in which Fitzpatrick has produced a touchdown.

Special teams collected 19 points for Miami. K Jason Sanders delivered a perfect 5-for-5 game.

The Jets are expected to lose this next one by 8.5. They have failed bettors playing the spread in all their past five games, so buyers beware.

New York and the Dolphins split their matches last season, with Miami claiming a 26-18 victory and New York retaliating with a 22-21 win of their own. Check back on CBSSports.com for updates on how things play out this time around.

Panthers vs Bears live

After a two-game homestead, the Chicago Bears will be on the road. They will square off against the Carolina Panthers at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium. Chicago has a defense that allows only 20 points per game, so Carolina’s offense will have their work cut out for them.

How To Watch

  • Where: Bank of America Stadium — Charlotte,, North Carolina

The Bears dodged a bullet last week, finishing off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-19. No one had a standout game offensively for Chicago, but they got scores from RB David Montgomery and TE Jimmy Graham. QB Nick Foles ended up with a passer rating of 123.10.

Meanwhile, Carolina beat the Atlanta Falcons 23-16 this past Sunday. Among those leading the charge for Carolina was RB Mike Davis, who snatched one receiving TD.

Special teams collected 11 points for the Panthers. K Joey Slye delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

Their wins bumped the Bears to 4-1 and Carolina to 3-2. One last thing to keep an eye on: six of Chicago’s points in their last matchup came from rushes on the left side of the field. That’s bad news for Carolina, who had a hard time containing the rush on the left side of the field against Atlanta.

Lions vs Jaguars Live

The Detroit Lions are favored to win for the first time this season. Their bye week comes to an end as they meet up with the Jacksonville Jaguars at 1 p.m. ET at TIAA Bank Field on Sunday. The Lions won’t have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 3.5-point advantage in the spread.

How To Watch

  • Where: TIAA Bank Field — Jacksonville,, Florida
  • TV: FOX

Detroit didn’t finish too far behind, but the squad still lost 35-29 to the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago. A silver lining for Detroit was the play of QB Matthew Stafford, who passed for three TDs and 206 yards on 31 attempts.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville ended up a good deal behind the Houston Texans when they played this past Sunday, losing 30-14. The losing side was boosted by QB Gardner Minshew, who passed for two TDs and 301 yards on 49 attempts. Minshew ended up with a passer rating of 128.30.

Detroit is the favorite in this one, with an expected 3.5-point margin of victory. True fans might be the only ones betting on them, currently 1-3 ATS, to cover the spread.

The losses put Detroit at 1-3 and the Jaguars at 1-4. The Lions are 1-1 after losses this season, Jacksonville 0-3.

Falcons vs Vikings Live

The Atlanta Falcons need to shore up a defense that is allowing 32.2 points per matchup before their contest on Sunday. They will take on the Minnesota Vikings at 1 p.m. ET at U.S. Bank Stadium. Atlanta is still on the hunt for that elusive first W.

How To Watch

The Falcons were first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their game against the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday. Atlanta came up short against Carolina, falling 23-16. The losing side was boosted by RB Todd Gurley, who rushed for one TD and 121 yards on 14 carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Gurley has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season.

Most of the squad’s points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed ten. K Younghoe Koo delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

Meanwhile, Minnesota lost 27-26 to the Seattle Seahawks. Minnesota was up 13 to nothing at the end of the half but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Minnesota’s loss came about despite a quality game from WR Adam Thielen, who caught nine passes for two TDs and 80 yards. Thielen has now produced at least one touchdown in the past three games.

The Vikings’ defense was a presence as well, as it got past Seattle’s offensive line to sack QB Russell Wilson four times for a loss of 27 yards. It was a group effort with four picking up one sack apiece.

Both of these teams will be looking to put their recent losses behind them and walk away with a win. We’ll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
