The Colorado Buffaloes will finally open their 131st season of intercollegiate football after two delays, with the UCLA Bruins traveling to Boulder. This will be Colorado’s latest season opener in 102 years, since 1918 when the start of the season was also delayed by a pandemic. Karl Dorrell is looking to become CU’s third straight first-year head coach to win his inaugural game.
The Bruins own an 11-4 overall advantage in the series against Colorado, which started in 1980. However, UCLA has dropped the last two meetings played in Folsom Field (in 2018 and 2016) and the Bruins went just 7-17 in their first two seasons under the direction of Chip Kelly.
